Deepika Padukone:
For Deepika Padukone, facing the camera was something she had done regularly during her modelling days. But sharing it with the King of Bollywood for her first movie, and getting it right was not an easy job.
Not only was she liked by the audience and praised by the critics, but her debutant movie, Om Shanti Om, went on to become the biggest grosser of the year. She also won herself the Best Female Actor Debut at most of the award functions.
During her college days, Deepika decided to pursue a career in modeling. Over the years, she modeled for famous Indian brands such as Liril, Dabur Lal powder, Close-Up and Limca.
The camera obviously loved her, and thereby she became the brand ambassador for the Jewels of India. She finally hit the international scene when she became the new international spokesperson for Maybeline.
Titled the Model of the Year at the 5th annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards, Deepika made a success out of her modelling career.
She then starred in the music video for the song Naam Hai Tera from the independent pop album Aap Kaa Surroor by Himesh Reshammiya. It was in 2006 when Deepika made her cinematic debut in the Kannada film, Aishwarya staring opposite actor Upendra.
Her most recent film is Siddharth Anand's Bachna Ae Haseeno, where she played the role of a strong-headed girl with her priorities right.
Deepika is currently working on Nikhil Advani's Chandni Chowk To China opposite Akshay Kumar.
